Framed page layouts October 10, 2009

These are some framed layouts I have been working on. I love these, they make great gifts or if you want to showcase a special moment without making a full scrapbook this is the best way to go. You can choose to have them put in a frame or put them on canvas. I am so glad that I have a weight lifted and I am able to create again, this is my passion and I love doing it, that almost got taken away from me, that is why I made the changes I did to be my own company again and do what I love doing. It is a snowy cold day here and I am enjoying my time being able to make beautiful things. I am back on a roll and strong again. Enjoy and check back for more great stuff.

Give Back to the children October 3, 2009

First Annual
Give back to the children

The holiday season is upon us and I would like to start a chain effect of giving back. I am reaching out to friends and family to help me with this amazing journey. This will be the first of many, it was hard to choose as children, animals and the elderly touch my heart. I will be collecting and buying stuffed animals to hand out at The Children’s Hospital the week of Christmas. To do this I will need your help, let’s all put a smile on these sick children and wish them a merry Christmas from all of us. As a parent I am so blessed to have healthy children and could not imagine having my child sick and in the hospital, some children are there for a day and some are there for weeks at a time. Could you imagine being in the hospital at Christmas time?
I will also be making hand-made Christmas cards to hand out with the stuffed animals.
This will be the first of many things I would like to do in the future. In the past I have made Christmas ornaments for an assisted living home for my Step-Mom, her mother was in the home and has passed away recently, I am glad I had the opportunity to share a small gift with everyone there. My family and I also donated our time to an Alzheimer’s home for Valentine’s Day. So you can see how important it is to give back, it is the greatest feeling in the world.
This is what I need.
• Small/medium stuffed animals
• Gift bags
• A couple of volunteers to be the drop off points, since I am hoping this will spread across Denver
If this happens to reach anyone in another state and you would like to send a stuffed animal that is welcome as well, or maybe you can start something where you live.
Please email me at letsgiveback@comcast.net for drop off points, if you would like to be a volunteer, or my mailing address.
In these times we all need to come together.
Thank you The Canacari Family

some new changes October 1, 2009

Yes it has been a while since my last post. Alot has been going on. I recently decided to leave The Paper Maven and start on my own. Although my last year with The Paper Maven has been an experience and I have learned alot and met some great people, it was time for me to move on. I have great things in my future and goals that I want to meet. Don’t be surprised if someday you see The Papery Willow studio, that is next on my list.

I recently became a partner at the Villa Parker if you plan on having any kind of an event you must check this place out, it is beautiful.
aboutus

I want to thank everyone for all of your support over the years as I have changed my path with my company many times and have gone through maybe a name or two :) I would like to introduce The Papery Willow
I am excited with this new chapter in my life and feel that what I have gone through in the past is only making me stronger.
I also want to thank an old friend, we were best friends in junior high and because of facebook we were reunited. I called her the last minute needing some ad work done and by the close of business on that same day she created two beautiful ads for me. Again thank you Anne Marie of Amgraphix you are the best.

scraps September 5, 2009

Filed under: Tip of the month — thepapermaven @ 6:10 pm

I was making some projects and starting thinking I would share some tips and tricks that I use, so here is a start.

When I do a project I put my scraps in a 2 gallon ziplock bag. When I need to make a card or a small project I already have everything there to make a quick project. I use to just keep all my scraps in a bin and thought I would use them but never did, so I ended up throwing good scraps away and never used them. This way with them in bags I use them more and I am not so overwhelmed.

Copic Markers: I have heard about these before and heard how great they are, then when my local scrapbooking store started to carry them I bought one to see what the hype was about. Wow! I can’t wait to start collecting them they are wonderful, they will work great with my stamped projects.

Senior Pictures September 5, 2009

Kayla had her senior pictures a couple of weeks ago, it was so amazing. We had them done by Forever Yours our first sitting was at Hudson Gardens what a beautiful place. Kayla hit every pose on the nose. Of course I cried when I saw them. Last weekend we went to the studio to pick them out, that was so difficult, but we made it through. I will post some later. I can’t believe this is her last year, boy does time fly.

What a crazy summer August 11, 2009

I have really been bad about updating my blog. This will be short for now. I have been working on a couple of projects, I will post those pictures later.
It has been crazy trying to juggle my day job and also trying to build my business.

The kids are getting ready to go back to school, I wonder where this year has gone? This is Kayla’s last year, and it seems like yesterday that she just started kindergarten.
Brianna will be in jr. High, she is so excited, she said she cannot wait to have different teachers and a locker.
That’s it for now. I will be on my soap box later

Whats been going on? July 10, 2009

It has been crazy around here. Last month Brianna went to Florida, Then Kayla went camping with my Mom, Chris and the girls went to Kansas for a week for Grandma’s memorial, Chris is now gone with his brother camping, comes home saturday, then we leave on sunday for a week……..and it seems like the summer is already flying past and then it will be time for school. Our favorite place to go is The River (thats what we call it) it is the south platte and there is an area by REI and people just hang out go rafting and just have a good time. The kids love it, we usually will stay for the whole day pack lunch and bring the raft and tubes and play all day, but with all the weird schedules we just have not made it down there yet. We will get down there yet this year.
